Welcome to the Southern Experience!
"The Southern Experience Band" embraces their heritage as a southern rock band influenced by country and blues. The band has achieved a fan base both in local and national markets evident by print media and radio air play. "The Southern Experience Band" identifies with ordinary lifestyles, the small things in life that are significant and uses four part harmonies and down home lyrics to establish the band's brand.
"The Southern Experience Band" writes with the intention to reflect who they are. The music and lyrics reflect all of the musical influences that each group member brings to the table, as well as, sharing the experiences and life lessons accumulated growing up in The South. The music relates to so many people from all walks of life regardless of where they live. The music is uplifting and the harmonies invoke an intertwining of vocals from all band members, therefore, merging together as one unit. The band holds it's values high, their families mean a lot to them and religious upbringing establishes their value system. As a collective group of Southerners, although from different backgrounds, ethnicities, socio-economic statuses, and educational accomplishments, the members share a common thread .....and that is SOUTHERN PRIDE.
"It's laudable that this band has stuck to their roots and put out a distinctively southern sounding record, especially given that here in the US southern rock hasn't been the "in thing" for some time now. ..."Make Me Or Break Me" has a great chorus and some tasty lead playing from JT Fitch. "Could Be Better" is pure Marshall Tucker with its smooth, swaying rhythms. "Fight the Fight" is a gentle acoustic number that reeks of southern folklore, lyrically and musically / "You Know" is a ripping song with a Memphis swagger - great stuff! ..." - TONY PIJAR, Powerplay Rock & Metal Magazine
"Where I'm From' is the hugely enjoyable new eleven track album from North Carolina based rock band The Southern Experience. This album has all the fundamentals I like about Southern rock albums that strikes that chord with me for its rich diversity, fun energy and passion, the band stick to the formula but manage to add in their own stamp which keeps the overall feel of the album fresh, add to that a crisp mix courtesy of Rusty Milner (Marshall Tucker Band) and super production sound by Tim Lawter (also Marshall Tucker Band) and you have an album that after a few spins pulls you right in. A lot of care and attention has gone into the creation of the album, it baffles me as to why bands like The Southern Experience are not huge. 'Where I'm From' has all the hallmarks that fans of southern rock will fully enjoy." - NICKY BALDRIAN - Fireworks Magazine
